Thankfully
I've got three more days off.
Sounds evil dosen't it?
Seriously though. I have so many things to be thankful for. Obbie, my Mom, a mostly recessionproof job, the fact that my credit card debt is significantly below the national average, the car is (mostly) paid for, and there is heating oil in the tank. I'm also thankful for all my internet buddies, even though I'm a big, fat douche who dosen't return emails or PM's promptly, dosen't blog as often as I should (or with much depth) or post on the forum like I used to. I'm thankful that I have a hobby that more or less supports itself, and that my best friend and partner is just as enthusiastic about craft shows as I am, and encourages me to expand my creative horizons.
I'm also thankful that my Mom gave us 50 pounds of beef, and I have to rearrange my freezers to get it all in. (When last I looked, beef is going for 4.99 a pound for roasts, more for steaks, and anywhere from 2.99 to 4.99 a pound for burger.) And I know where this beef came from, and that the steers weren't fed dead cows, drywall, roadkill, or any other things that steers shouldn't be fed in the name of 'fattening up.'
I'm thankful the small things, like lemon scented body butter, (which I got in a trade in at a craft show earlier this year), vanilla coffee, fat free half & half, bacon salt, and my newest ebay pal, Joyce, who sells the most awesome seed beads.
I'm thankful for my furry friends, John, Pete, Grace, Barney and Maxx, because they give me such unending pleasure and amusement and unconditional love.
I'm grateful for Obbie, for a million reasons, not the least of which being that he's very tolerant of my assholery, mood swings, snippiness, constant use of the F-word, and extreme snarkyness. He loves a good road trip, and good food. We're alike in so many ways, it's almost scary. (As I typed this, he strolled thru saying, "Coffee and a ham sandwich! Now that's breakfast!" to which I replied, "Yes, that's exactly what I had...") We're scary like that sometimes.
And with that, my friends, I'll leave you, on this day after Thanksgiving. I'm glad you all still stop by and read my drivel.
Carry on.
