What the hell?!

I'm not the one to get all upset about kid-related stuff. Not the one to scream "What about the children?!!" Not one to get in a froth about abortion, fetus rights or any of that.

But holy shit. What the hell is up with this?

A woman charged with killing an expectant mother and cutting the baby from her womb was showing the child off to people at a cafe and to her pastor hours before she was arrested, residents said Saturday.

We've all read the news reports, but that dosen't lessen the horror of this story. I'm at a total loss here. Not only did this woman plot to kill the pregnant woman, she then CUT HER BABY OUT OF HER AFTER SHE KILLED HER. Then proceeded to parade the baby around and show her off to people in her small town.

I grew up in a small town. You couldn't fart in church without someone across town knowing it by lunchtime. News travels FAST in small town America.

How did she think she could hide appearing with a newborn after Amber Alerts had been issued, and the story was on every major news program nationwide?

She's nicely paving her way for pleading insanity, you know. The opinion of everyone has been, "How the hell did she think she could have gotten away with it?"

Except for her husband:

Kevin Montgomery and the couple's two children met Lisa and the newborn in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in Topeka and drove home, according to an affidavit.

Hello! Where did the baby come from? Is this man that much of a moron that he'd not question the fact that wifey dearest had a baby, was released from the hospital and met him in a parking lot? What kind of idiot is he? And they already have two kids! Where'd they come from? Walmart?

Stories like this make me shake my head. I just can't imagine people being so stupid. And her, she's the smartest one of the bunch. She will plead insanity and spend the rest of her life being taken care of by the state.
