Christmas?!

Now, I'm not a totally evil humbugger here. Oh nooo....I donate to the Mission here, and take food and other supplies to the animal shelter. It's good for my karma. In theory, anyway.

I'm rather put out by the fact that the whole Christmas grab is on. I didn't even count the number of Christmas related commercials yesterday. Plus Old Navy has been running their dumb ads since before Thanksgiving.

Ahh...a Lexus under my tree. Or a new Benz! Who is exactly buying into this? I certainly don't know who anyone who is buying their significant other a Benz or a Lexus. Let alone hiding it from them until Christmas morn, and presenting it to them with a big red bow attached.

Hell. I'd be overwhelmed with a new set of tires for my car.

The average American will spend 750 bucks on Christmas gifts.

Are you shitting me? Really?! Okay, I can see it for a family with a kid or two, but how about single people? I guess thats where the averaging comes into play. People like me, who have but 3 or 4 people on their gift list (not that I'm complaining, mind you) are lumped together with the people who have a shitload on their list, and buy copious amounts of STUFF.

I'd just like to peek into the lives of these folks who spend so much money at Christmas. I bet I'd be scared.
